Activity 1.2 Conjunctions: and, but, so, or.

Completion requirements

Task goal

The student will

    • identify  conjunctions and, but, or, so in compound sentences.

    • write sentences in english using conjunctions and, but, or, so.


Expected product

  • Students will make a chart that contains connectors, their use and give examples
  • Students will write compound sentences using the conjunctions and, but, or , so.

Group organization: individually

1. Conjunctions                   

Individual work 


1. Read and study the slide show “Conjunctions” as many times as you need,  you can take notes. 


2. Download and complete the “Conjunctions chart”  with your own ideas. Include the conjunctions,  their  use and give examples.

 

3. Upload your chart. Remember to use .jpg or .pdf formats and post it on Moodle. 


4.Select the best option in exercise that connects both parts of the sentence in order to make it coherent and easy to read. (1.2.1 Conjunctions exercise) 



2. Compound sentences

1. Study the presentation “Compound Sentences” 


2. Answer the exercises 1.2.2 Compound sentences slide show.


3. Forming compound sentences

1.Watch the video “Top ten skills for success in any career” and answer exercise "1.2.3 Top ten skills for success in any career".
